Keili Koppel
PhD Researcher
Keili Koppel is a PhD researcher at the University of Edinburgh, exploring the observation and noticing of more-than-human entanglements through the lens of time, with a particular interest in how people attend to and relate to plant life. Her current project focuses on phenology recording (the seasonal timings of plants and animals) as a practice of attention and care, informed by design and environmental humanities. The work is in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and the Woodland Trust’s Nature’s Calendar, and funded by the AHRC through a Collaborative Doctoral Partnership. She holds a master’s degree in Design Innovation and Environmental Design from the Glasgow School of Art, and has worked across projects in the arts, civic engagement, and mental health.
