Special CAVE Research and Development Showing of E+N by Sita Pieraccini

Cross-Format Audio in Virtual Performance Environments (CAVE) is an XR (Extended REality) Network+ funded research project exploring immersive audio in real-time, hybrid performance. As this project comes to a close, CAVE researchers Louis McHugh and Emma Dorfman, invite you to join them for a special R&D showing of E+N, a performance by Sita Pieraccinia solo physical/visual exploration of the story of Ovid’s Echo and Narcissus inspired by reflected landscapes, synthesised vocals and plant puppetry. In this performance, CAVE researchers will be experimenting with real-time spatial audio rendering, investigating how immersive audio can deliver more ‘immersive’ and ’embodied’ experiences to remote audiences, with the opportunity for audience members to participate in the research.

As an audience member, we hope that you will consider participating in our research, which is in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and XR Network+, through an anonymous post-performance questionnaire (to be distributed at the time of the event).

You can find more information about CAVE at the following link: https://xrnetworkplus.xrstories.co.uk/project/cross-format-audio-for-virtual-environments-cave/.

This study has obtained ethical approval from the University of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh College of Art. For any other questions related to the project, please contact our Principal Investigator, Louis McHugh.
